RIVER RAFTING >> THE KALI GANGA (SHARDA)

The name Kali Ganga is rather misleading for it ahs nothing actually, to do with the Ganga. The Kali Ganga, known in its lower reaches as the Sharda, flows into India from the neighboring country of Nepal. Swirling down from the hills of Kumaon region, the Kali Ganga meets the Gori river at Jauljibi, where we start our river rafting on this Stretch. A very demanding stretch of river running, this run – all of 117 kms. Passes through some of the fastest and most difficult rapids along the river. Most of the river is Grade IV – or higher – and it is always good if you have some good rafting experience. The run donw to Tanakupur takes about three – four days, and if your have still not had your fill; you can go further to the lower reaches of the river, which are easier stretches. Jaulijibi, which is the start of the run, is well connected to major towns of Kumoun by road.
